About Me

Hello, my name is Alexandria Evans; that’s what my parents named me, but I usually just go by Alex. I love sports, and marketing has always been an interest of mine. I’ve decided that while continuing my education in the Integrated Marketing Communications program at Conestoga College I would do my best to combine the two topics.

I currently work in the marketing and communications field with a youth soccer club. My main areas of focus include the development of membership newsletters, website updates, the design of print advertisements, and writing articles which are often featured in SportsXpress Waterloo.

Having previously studied business management, it is easy to fall into the trap of relating everything back to the bottom line. While working for a non-profit youth sports organization, I quickly learned that the bottom line is about far more than just finances; it needs to take into account the people your organization touches and your impact on the community. I believe all children should have the opportunity to develop and play sports, and that’s why I believe it is so important that organizations take every opportunity to effectively and efficiently communicate with the parents in their community.

I have come to the realization that at the end of the day the smiling children and the pride beaming from the parents’ faces are worth all of the stress that goes along with the craziness that can be found in youth sports.

I hope you enjoy my thoughts and in-depth look at how IMC can help your organization achieve results. If there are any topics you’d like to hear my take on please feel free to contact me; you might even find your topic in one of my posts.
